Cluster? No Cluster?

The question is becoming more and more frequent as people realize what is happening. People are asking ME, "why is it that I paid Inverdigm / Hostingplex for clustered web hosting but do not currently have it?". They are being told various stories from various sources, and drawing their own conclusions.

If you are tying to figure out what happened at Hostingplex, and who Inverdigm is and haven't read my initial blog post on the topic, you can read it right here.

First, Some Links Of Interest:

What I can assure everyone is that , on and before July 31st, 2008, hostingplex.com had a web hosting cluster. All new signups were automatically provisioned to the cluster. Demand for the cluster was high, and many existing customers took us up on our offer for a free migration to the service if they upgraded. The process of moving customers to the cluster was a manual one (we were working on an automated script), so it is no secret that there was a backlog of getting people moved over, some people waiting longer than others.

As for the cluster itself, the intention was to scale up the system as load increased, which is the great advantage to a clustered system, transparently scale the infrastructure. As clients were moved to the cluster, old equipment would be re-purposed to be used in the cluster.

At July 31st:

Upstream Provider: Verizon/MCI Fiber GIGE

Cluster Hardware:

5 x Dell 1425 Dual Xeon 3.4 GHz 4GB RAM
1 x IBM x255 Quad Xeon MP 2.8 GHz 12GB RAM, 12 x 146GB U320 RAID-10
CoyotePoint Load Balancing

Load on the system was low, it handled the traffic very well as we moved people over. When spikes of traffic came in the system performed as expected. We were very excited about the clustering technology, and were continuously improving it and working on adding support for additional frameworks such as Django and a flash server.

So are you on a cluster? are you scheduled to be moved to the cluster? if you are not on the cluster can you get a refund? These questions can only be answered by Millennium Data System right now.

As usual, if you are unable to get the appropriate answers from MDS, or they are telling you that Inverdigm is responsible for refunds etc, feel free to contact me .

It is also very important that everyone understands, I am not attempting to solicit business, or attempting to interfere with the buiness dealings of any other business, I am simply stuck in the middle of this situation along with a lot of other people and I am trying to do what I can to make it right.

If you are looking for a new provider, as much as I would like to take on previous customers that are dissatistifed and honour the contracts, doing so is too grey right now and I would not want to open up myself or anyone else to any potential legal issues. I want everything to work out for everyone involved and I will do what I can within the limits of what is lawful to do so.

Millennium Data Systems d/b/a hostmds.com aquires Hostingplex.Com

Hello All,

Let me reintroduce myself, I am the original founder and current owner of Inverdigm Inc (incorporated in Ontario October 2000), which was doing business as hostingplex.com since 2002. During July of 2008 hostingplex.com and its assets were acquired by Millennium Data Systems from Inverdigm Inc in a transaction that appeared to be in the best interest of all involved. It happened very quickly, less than 7 days from the conception of the idea to the closing. The deal was not for my personal gain, I did not receive any money and do not hold any equity share in the new company, the sole basis for this decision was that I did not have the resources to continue hostingplex.com to where I was trying to take it, and being acquired by MDS would give me access to the resources to fully execute my vision.

Quickly it was found that in fact the owners of the new business did not share the same vision that I personally had, which led to irreconcilable differences, resulting in termination of my employment agreement in October 2008, which of course did not include any form of severance or buyout, I had not even been there 90 days.

Inverdigm Inc is no longer carrying on the business of hostingplex.com, lodging BBB complaints against Inverdigm Inc is an action that will not result in resolution to your issues as I have no power over hostingplex.com.

Issuing chargeback’s for payments made to hostingplex through WorldPay (approximately up to July 31st 2008) will not result in the funds being retrieved from the new owners, but instead will be held against Inverdigm Inc, which obviously is unfair so please consider this before doing so.

The official contact information for the new owners at the time of this posting is as follows:
